Department of Physics, established in the year 1957 aims at playing a vital role in producing academicians that can meet and keep pace with international standards. The department is run by a distinguished faculty eighty percent of which is Ph.d. holder from renowned institutes of India.It offers one under-graduate programme (B.Sc.) and one post-graduate programme (M.Sc., Physics with specialization in Electronics) to cater to the present-day challenges and demands of excellence in varied areas of Physical Science. There are separate well-equipped laboratories for students of under-graduate classes (B.Sc. Ist, IInd, IIIrd year) and of M.Sc. classes (all the four semesters).Classrooms, laboratories and other infrastructure is maintained regularly and upgraded as well with coordinated efforts of faculty members and technical staff of the department. Every possible step is taken by the latter to provide suitable environment and adequate opportunities to researchers to experiment, learn and invent in the laboratories. The department is recognized as a research centre (Ph.D.) by Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut. All the faculty members of the department are actively engaged in research in allied areas such as Terahertz Photonics, Plasmonics, Astrophysics, Plasma Physics, Material Science and Condensed Matter Physics.
