The Indira Gandhi National Open University was established by an Act of Parliament in the year 1985 with the noble goal of providing educational facilities to the deprived and needy ones at their door steps through distance educational methods, which consist of sending high quality self Instructional written material, Audio-Video Material Aids, Counselling Sessions, Tele Conferencing, Practical Projects Work, Gyan Darshan Educational Channel, Gyan Vani – a Radio channel and Interactive Radio-Counseling to all its students.

IGNOU has set up various Study Centers all across the Country to provide facilities of counseling sessions to remove student’s difficulties, Library, Reading Room and Audio-Video facilities.

One Such IGNOU Study Center (Study Center Code : 2707) is established in Multanimal Modi College Modinagar, The center has been established in 1987 through the benevolence of our worthy the then Chairman Prof.(Dr.) D.K. Modi who provided various infra-structural facilities initially. The Center is very well equipped in respect of various facilities and is working very well under the Coordinator Dr. Mayank Mohan, Head of the Economics Department . The Center is catering to the educational needs of students belonging to several adjoining areas which are established to take admission in different courses with their services simultaneously.

The IGNOU study center here provides facilities for the following educational programs leading to various degrees and diplomas & certificate etc.
